Richard H. Grafton specializes in products liability, personal injury, property damage, breach of contract, and construction defect litigation. For over 20 years, Rich has defended and tried cases in both federal and state courts throughout the state of Texas, including some of the more notorious venues for corporate clients. Rich has extensive trial experience regarding alleged defects in automobiles, light trucks, tires, heavy trucks, commercial vehicles, recreational vehicles and trailers, manufactured housing, consumer products, and industrial equipment. His motor vehicle and heavy truck related experience includes claims involving handling, stability, roof strength, restraints, ROPS, fire, fuel systems, warnings/instructions, metallurgical concerns, and fabrication issues. Rich has an undergraduate degree in industrial engineering from the University of Alabama and spent six years working in the construction industry before attending law school. He later received an M.B.A degree and his J.D. with honors  from the University of Houston.  His technical background and business experience is of great assistance in defending cases with complex engineering or financial issues. He also practices in the areas of deceptive trade practices, professional liability, patent disputes, and insurance coverage disputes. In addition, he practices before the Texas Motor Vehicle Commission regarding consumer “Lemon Law” and dealer/manufacturer disputes. Rich is admitted to all federal courts in Texas. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, a peer-reviewed publication by Best Lawyers, is "AV" rated by Martindale-Hubbell legal directory, and is a member of Product Liability Advisory Council (PLAC).
