Description of Practice

GERMER has a number of attorneys who are skilled and experienced in the practice of employment law.  The firm's attorneys are routinely involved in the defense of litigated employment law cases including cases brought under the following statutes:

  • Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA);
  • Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA);
  • Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA); and
  • Title VII of the 1964 Civil rights Act (including claims of discrimination based on race, religion, national origin, and gender).

The firm’s representation in employment matters extends to all phases of employment related disputes, including defense in administrative proceedings (such as those initiated by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or the Department of Labor), trial, and appeal.

GERMER's attorneys also advise clients on labor and employment issues, including questions about employee wages, compensation, overtime, discharge or discipline of employees, labor relations issues, and grievances.  The firm's attorneys akso draft materials for clients related to labor and employment law, including employment manuals, contracts, non-competition agreements, and other documents.
